VOXITI KFT. 360 degree digital panorama system

Our goal: to provide a new experience for the domestic and foreign tourism sector - both service providers and users.

Evolution of Tourism

Tourism was one of the most stable and predictably growing industries in the world before the COVID19 epidemic that emerged in late 2019 and burst in spring 2020. Initially, it was the middle classes of Western Europe and North America, which grew stronger in the 1950s and '60s, that started travelling - then came the regime-changing countries of Eastern Europe, and finally the Asian masses, which have emerged in incredible numbers over the last few decades. The emergence of low-cost airlines and the development of domestic tourism, following the example of Hungary, also contributed to the post-2010 domestic boom.

Not only has the size of the affluent social strata increased, but continuous innovation has also contributed to the transformation of tourism into a key industry. Whereas previously the only way to travel between continents was by boat, the development of air transport has enabled more and more people to travel to more distant landscapes. At the same time, intra-continental destinations have become more accessible with the emergence of low-cost airlines 10-20 years ago - while shipping has become a new service for the leisure industry, with thousands of passengers relaxing in city-sized floating hotels.

About us

Voxiti Ltd., which has been in existence since 2008, started thinking about developing a "tourist attraction" device system in 2016. Since then, a lot of water has flowed down the Danube - at that time, our ideas, desires and plans had to be partially adapted to the explosive technological possibilities and demand needs that do not always resonate with them, by constantly monitoring the market.
This is how our project was transformed into a demand planning-driven solution search for the 2020 launch.

Of course, the pandemic hit us hard. The prices for raw materials and services were nothing compared to what we had planned in 2016-17. As we wanted to implement the project anyway - due to the positive feedback from the market - we had to find suitable interim solutions. Our end goal has not changed: to provide a unique, up-to-date experience for users - for the time being in the tourism sector. Unfortunately, we had to cut corners along the way.

Usage options

As tourism is the primary market for our product, we have identified two possible uses for it, in consultation with our prospective customers. The first: public spaces, e.g. the main square of a city or the immediate surroundings of a tourist attraction (Várkert Bazaar, Pannonhalma Abbey, Eger Castle).

The 3D Pavilion

As the system developed has several sensitive points - energy consumption, exposure to vandalism, environmental impact - we decided to design and build a pavilion in a public space. The Égigérő Architecture Studio, led by József Őrfi, a qualified architect, provided the best and most original idea for the design, and we entrusted them with the design. The pavilion, approximately 3 metres in diameter and divided into 3 uniform booths, allows three users to use our equipment at the same time. The unified structural design goes beyond the kiosk's exterior, with a "facade" that can be designed with a variety of textures - the same content is provided to all our clients, but we can adapt to local characteristics and specifications on request. The pavilion is lockable and is powered by utility connection points under the central column section, which is also the maintenance section. Individual users can select a route and language on a touch screen installed in the central wall (usually 6 routes and currently 3 languages available). After the last confirmation, the headset is put on and the media content starts. It can be operated automatically (self-service), but due to the health risks involved - possible seizures, nausea - it is strongly recommended to use it with a technically trained animator.

Visitor Centre, indoor

As is common and ordinary in Pannonhalma and other important destinations: there is a visitor centre on the site. In many places there are already group projections before the traditional guided tour - it is easier to absorb the experience if you have a visual history of what you will see later.

Indoors, visitors can enjoy individual or group 360-degree aerial tours - live or recorded media productions. An animator on a tablet can start a group viewing at the same time and then instruct the audience on what to do next at the end of the playback.

Application

Our 360-degree recorded and live video footage can be accessed through our app - after registration - on mobile devices.
